Health Wave Chiropractic was founded by Dr. Andrew Shy, a dedicated professional with a deep passion for helping others optimize their health and wellness. With years of experience and a commitment to personalized, high-quality care, he is driven to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his patients.
With an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and involvement in collegiate athletics, Dr. Shy brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and hands-on experience to patient care. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida campus and is a board-certified Chiropractic Physician. His extensive training includes clinical rotations, volunteer work, outreach programs, along with years of experience at a high-volume practice in Edgewater, FL.
Dr. Shy was tired of individuals not receiving the personalized care that they not only need, but deserve, which is why he decided to open up Health Wave. Having successfully treated thousands of patients, Dr. Shy specializes in injury recovery, chronic condition management, and overall wellness optimization. His evidence-based approach and deep understanding of the human body allow him to deliver highly personalized, one-on-one care—helping individuals achieve lasting relief and healthier, pain-free lives.

Postgraduate Training
While practicing at a high volume clinic in Florida to see as many individuals as possible, Dr. Shy has continued to invest in advanced training to better serve his patients. He earned his dry needling certification and is currently completing his Titleist Performance Institute License to expand his work to athletes and golfers. Dr. Shy stays committed to ongoing education and clinical growth, integrating the latest techniques, technology, and research into patient care.
2020-2023
Palmer College of Chiropractic - Florida
While at Palmer, Dr. Shy made it his goal to immerse himself fully in every opportunity to learn. He attended as many clubs and electives as possible--often sacrificing his lunch break to study and practice. He graduated magna cum laude, received an academic acheivement award, and served as a clinical teaching assistant in the student clinic. Dr. Shy continued his involvement in community outreach throughout school and completed his preceptorship in Virginia, which focused on regenerative medicine cases for a broader clinical experience.
2015-2019
Shenandoah University
Dr. Shy started his education journey earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree with a minor in Biology during his tenure at Shenandoah. While earning Dean's list and President's list awards, he was also a member of the University's lacrosse team, starting for the team all four years. During his time in Winchester, VA, he was heavily involved in community outreach projects and volunteer programs. Before graduating with honors, he completed multiple internships with Physical Therapists and Chiropractors, which helped to solidify his passion for human movement and rehabilitation.
